Some Nerdy Stuff
There’s a technical issue related to backlinks that is important to understand to get them right.
There are two types of backlinks. They are called “follow” and “no-follow” links.
By default, backlinks are “follow”.
Follow links tell Google that you are fine associating your website with the site you are linking to.
If your website has a lot of authority, and you link to a site using a follow link, you pass along some of your authority in the process.
Alternatively, no-follow links tell Google that your link should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the linked site, and none of your authority should be passed along with the backlink.
To create a no-follow link, you’d have to add the no-follow attribute to your link when you setup the backlink.
Neither link option affects your SEO rankings, but follow links are the type of links that help Bitterroot Info.
